Hoya insularis is a truly one-of-a-kind collector’s gem, prized for its ultra-thin, grass-like leaves and clusters of creamy yellow star-shaped flowers. Native to the Philippines, this rare epiphytic species stands out in any Hoya collection thanks to its unusual foliage and compact, trailing growth habit.
Perfect for small spaces, terrariums, or mounted displays, Hoya insularis prefers bright indirect light, moderate humidity, and a chunky, well-draining mix. When happy, it rewards growers with delicate umbels of fragrant blooms that contrast beautifully against its slender, grassy leaves.
Flowers: The blooms form in small umbels of 5–10 flowers. Each flower is star-shaped and petite, typically about 5–7 mm in diameter. Pale creamy yellow to greenish-yellow with a slightly darker center or corona.
