The Nepenthes alata, commonly called the Winged Pitcher Plant, is a tropical carnivorous plant with long, slender leaves that form elegant pitchers lined with delicate “wings”. These pitchers naturally trap insects, making it both a conversation piece and a fascinating functional plant.

Prefers Sphagnum Moss instead of soil

• Light: Bright, indirect light; tolerates some gentle morning sun
• Water: Keep soil consistently moist with distilled or rainwater; avoid tap water
• Humidity: High humidity preferred (60%+); thrives in terrariums or greenhouses
• Growth habit: Climbing or trailing vine with winged, insect-catching pitchers
• Pet safe: Non-toxic to cats & dogs
