The Calathea 'Beauty Star,' also known as Calathea veitchiana 'Beauty Star,' is a striking houseplant prized for its eye-catching foliage and vibrant appearance. The most distinctive feature of the 'Beauty Star' is its leaves. They are large, oval-shaped, and have a unique pattern. The upper side of the leaves is a rich green with a prominent, silvery-white stripe running down the center. The leaf margins are usually dark green, creating a lovely contrast. The undersides of the leaves are a deep maroon or reddish-brown color, adding another layer of visual interest.

    Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Use filtered, distilled, or rainwater to avoid chlorine and fluoride, which can cause leaf browning.

  • Toxicity

    Non-toxic to pets and humans, making it a great choice for homes with cats and dogs.

  • Fertilization

    Feed with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer every 4 weeks in spring and summer. Avoid over-fertilizing, as it can lead to salt buildup. No need to fertilize in fall and winter.
